Dave Pszenyczny

Dave Pszenyczny (pronounced "pshuh-NITCH-nee")〔〔(born February 18, 1985 in Royal Oak, Michigan) is an American professional ice hockey defenseman who currently plays for the Tulsa Oilers of the ECHL.〔 Fans have referred to him as "Pez", "Chez", and other nicknames due to the difficult spelling of his last name.
==Playing career==
Pszenyczny began his Junior Hockey career in 2001, playing forty-two games for the Capital Centre Pride of the North American Hockey League during its 2001–02 season and five games for the Sarnia Sting of the Ontario Hockey League during its 2001–02 season.〔 He returned to the Sting for the 2002–03 season, with whom he played through early in the 2004–05 season, at which point he was traded from the Sting to the Mississauga IceDogs, in exchange for Chad Painchaud.〔〔 After the 2004-05 season ended, Pszenyczny appeared in four games as an amateur for the Muskegon Fury of the United Hockey League, with whom he won the Colonial Cup for the 2004-2005 UHL season.〔〔 Pszenyczny concluded his Junior Hockey career after the 2005–06 season, starting the season with the IceDogs, before being traded to the Barrie Colts on January 9, 2006 in exchange for Brett Oliphant.〔〔
Pszenyczny began his full-time Professional Ice Hockey career in 2006, playing four games for the Toronto Marlies of the American Hockey League during its 2006-07 season, before joining the Phoenix RoadRunners of the ECHL for the remainder of the ECHL's 2006-07 season.〔 Pszenyczny began the 2007-08 season with the RoadRunners before joining the Alaska Aces, also of the ECHL, during that same season.〔 Pszenyczny was again moved during the 2007-08 season, this time in a trade to the Reading Royals on February 12, 2008 which brought Brett Hemingway to the Aces.〔
Pszenyczny joined the Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs of the Central Hockey League for the 2008-09 season, playing with the team through the 2010-11 season.〔 During his final season with the Mudbugs, he won the Ray Miron President's Cup.
After the Mudbugs folded after the 2010-11 season, Pszenyczny signed with the Missouri Mavericks of the Central Hockey League on July 21, 2011.〔〔 On September 22, 2011, after technically being released by the Mavericks, Pszenyczny signed a two-way contract with the Chicago Wolves of the AHL, before being optioned back to the Mavericks, the Wolves' new CHL affiliate.〔
On June 4, 2012, Pszenyczny signed a contract directly with the Mavericks for the 2012-2013 season.〔
On June 13, 2013, Pszenyczny re-signed with the Mavericks for the 2013-14 season.〔 During this season, Pszenyczny won the ''Oakley Central Hockey League Player of The Week Award'' for the week prior to December 23, 2013.〔
On July 12, 2014, Pszenyczny re-signed with the Mavericks for the 2014-15 season.〔
In July 2014, Missouri Mavericks fans voted Pszenyczny the seventh-greatest Mavericks player in a poll of the Top-10 Mavericks players from the first 5 years of the team's existence.〔〔〔
On October 7, 2014, it was announced that the Central Hockey League had folded and had joined the ECHL, nullifying Thinel's Central Hockey League contract with the team.〔〔 In light of the change in leagues, the Mavericks became subject to a ''Veteran Rule'' in the ECHL more restrictive than that in the CHL.〔 Because of the more strict ''Veteran Rule'', the Mavericks were unable to re-sign Pszenyczny to an ECHL contract.〔
On October 17, 2014, Pszenyczny signed with the Tulsa Oilers of the ECHL.〔
